ABANDONED MANSION

Once, this place was filled with life. Maybe it hosted a wealthy family’s events – late-night balls and grand galas, political networking or coming-of-age celebrations. Maybe it was home to enough children to fill all the bedrooms, or maybe it was only ever inhabited by a well-off couple and their guests, or even a single recluse. But whoever lived here once, they’re long-gone now.

So what are your characters doing there? A renovation project? Investigating a mystery? Taking shelter from bad weather or a long journey? Is the mansion truly abandoned...or is something still lurking?

Write a story about an abandoned mansion.

Why This Must Be Read: Bodyguard fic! This starts in medias res with John struggling with an intruder in Rodney's lab, and losing the fight. Then, at the last second, Rodney reappears. I love how they save each other in this, both very much bamfs in their own way. The story manages to convey the icy clarity of John's awareness of the imminence of his death, which transmutes into a focussed, heated awareness of Rodney. Fiercelydreamed gives us barely any backstory but it's more than enough to set this intense scene in context. Beautifully written.

I'm playing through Lunar Eternal Blue Complete for PSX as I said, enjoying the game throughout. Have met Lucia and her demise while encountering Zophar, nerfing her to a 1 HP punching bag. So now the real quest begins to help ber locate Althena and prevent Zophar destroy their world.

I'm sure glad that other battle against the guardians was a scripted one. I don't think I want to go back fighting the first one all over again being it was a tad difficult for being the beginning of the game.
