End of Year Report

Ben ‘Bell’ Markus

Year 11

Bell is an adept mage but struggling to settle on a class. He wants to be and know everything there is, and while this has served him well in school, I have been unable to explain to him that he cannot be three classes of mage at once. To do so is to spread oneself too thin and is dangerous. I am hoping a summer at home will help him decide and settle on a specialism.

As it is, I cannot recommend Bell go forward in school until he has chosen. I am concerned that once he returns he will continue to research how to be all three classes at once. This puts him and others at risk. He has skills in both spellcasting and elementals and needs to choose one of those before the new school year

Academically is a bright boy with an excellent record in chemistry, biology and history.

Dale Markus

 Year 11

Daze has continued to hone his skills with a sword and shield. He settle on his class early on in his time here at the school and his confidence in his abilities with a sword and shield have reflected that. While we have encourage the twins to be as independent as possible – both in their abilities and their social life, Bell has aided Daze in mastering some of his swords skills.

However, I believe Daze would’ve come to them on his own, in his own time. He has already mastered many skills a swordsman possess and I am hopeful that next term he will conquer the Blade of Justice move.

He very much is a defensive fighter due to his protective nature, not only over his twin but his other classmates. He has been reluctant to try some of the move offensive moves but has learnt them with encouragement.

Academically he does well in maths, English and physics.

Gladiolus Hale

Year: 11

Gladis has continued to excel here at the school. She has become a mentor to new students, and is part of our school welcoming committee. We are very pleased with her progress here at the school. She has always understood the purpose of the school and her reasons for being here and accepted them well.

Her proficiency with a greatsword has already surpassed that of her peers, and has won several bouts against other of her class. We see great things for Gladis, she commands every room she enters an we predict her to be in a leadership role of some sort before the end of her stay here.

This year I am hopeful that she will settle on her choices of skills and class, she has been reluctant to choose a specialism, more out of the fear of missing out rather than insecurity of her skills. I believe she has the ability to excel at any of the warrior classes but needs to choose by time the new term starts.

Academically is doing well, showing good progress in maths and English, though her encyclopedic knowledge of history – both of the school and the world have been excellent throughout her time here.

Name: Iris Whitehouse

Year: 8

Iris is one of the younger girls at our school, and still coming into her own. While she is one of the smaller girls, she is quite hardy and I am hopeful in time she will be quite strong, though I note she is much more active in the late spring and summer. During the winter and autumn terms, she is quieter and more reserved and would suit a warmer climate long term.

She has bursts of brilliance we are working to temper down, and seems to be favouring the sword. She is adept at fencing already after a single term with the sword, and should she put on more muscle over the next couple of years may be quite skilled larger swords. Her small frame puts into doubt her ability to wield a great sword, but we shall see as she grows what she is capable.

Iris has settled in well at the school, her sister has been a great help in that but I have seen her attempting to forge her own path often over the course of her first year.

Academically she is average, showing some promise in Maths. She is a pleasure to teach however, and while she may be quieter during the winter months, she is still learning and taking everything in.
