I have a cold.

I hate having a cold. 

Here are some things I would prefer:

I once fractured my ankle in two places and damaged my tendons - still better than a cold.

I once had period pain so bad I threw up solidly for 12 hours and had to have two injections in my arse for the pain and nausea - still better than a cold.

I had a liver biopsy; the worst pain I have EVER experienced had to lie on my side for 12 hours afterwards, eat my dinner (the only meal I'd been allowed to have that day) lying on my side,  deal with my drunk ass dad and useless ex-boyfriend, and use a commode - still better than a cold.

Ugh, I'm sorry you feel terrible. I HATE having a cold too. It's miserable. People are very dismissive when discussing colds, but honestly I deal with a lot of physical pain daily and I still find having a cold dreadful.

Commiserations. Colds are an underrated nuisance.

I used to get period pain so bad I couldn't walk without a cane. Boy am I glad I had a hysterectomy.

I've considered it over the years. I'm on Cerelle at the moment and it seems to have stopped my periods entirely which is brilliant.
